We always have to conclude that most of the misery in the US is by design and the intended purpose of the respective policies.

If the Dems ever get back in power they need to hold a referendum in a federal election, midterms likely, about specific sensible gun laws.

Assault weapons ban, background checks for all gun purchases, even gun shows and personnel sales. And other laws that I'm not thinking of.
