Back in the day we had a CTF challenge that was identify the HVAC belonging to a certain person's hotel nearby. Actually both their HVAC and fire alarm panels were indexed in Shodan if you knew how to search for 'em.
@reverseics i havent yet, no, but I imagine it would require a little bit of intel first.
when i was a kid, a hilarious piece of bullshit i pulled was to call a kmart store, and use the automated navigation menu to transfer myself to a specific extension.
... the extention for the PA system.
it was glorious. and im wondering if the technique still works
